Syracuse men’s lacrosse (11-4, 3-1 Atlantic Coast Conference) has climbed to No. 3 in the latest Inside Lacrosse Poll. SU didn’t play a game this past week but rose one spot, jumping Duke after the Blue Devils lost 15-12 against North Carolina. The week prior, SU rose two spots after defeating then-No. 4 Virginia for the first time under Gary Gait.

After beating the Cavaliers, Syracuse had the final weekend of ACC games off with the four other teams in the conference matching up. Notre Dame beat Virginia to clinch the top spot in the upcoming ACC Tournament and even though Duke fell to UNC, the Blue Devils earned the No. 3 seed while UVA rounds out the field.

After a lengthy break, SU will take on Duke in Charlotte, North Carolina, Friday. On March 20, Syracuse defeated then-No. 4 Duke 10-4 in the JMA Wireless Dome. Goalie Will Mark registered a season-high 77.8% save percentage while holding the Blue Devils to their lowest goal-scoring total since 2012. The Orange also kept reigning Tewaaraton winner Brennan O’Neill in check with just one goal.
